What we’re looking for in our GMs:

  • A sense of fun
  • An even temper and supportive nature
  • A great story idea
  • Enough familiarity with your game system to run the session smoothly on the day.

Guidelines to help you write your game pitch:

  • Be concise and skip to the good bit. It's only a blurb so you won't be able to explain everything. Think about the best way to condense what you need to say.
  • Let people know if they're expected to have experience with the game, otherwise you'll want to mention that 'no experience is necessary'. If you're welcoming new players, make sure to write inclusively – for example by avoiding system jargon.
  • Make sure you mention the genre of your game, especially if it's a niche or homebrew game since people who aren't familiar with the system might still be keen to play if they know it's a Sci-Fi or Swashbuckling Pirate game.
  • Match the tone of your pitch with the genre of your game. Make it sound fun if it's a light-hearted game or give people a little chill if it's horror.
  • Try writing a little like you were making a movie teaser trailer for your game: make it punchy and brief to get people hooked. Read it back as if you were a player looking for something to join and didn't know anything about your game; if it's appealing and makes you want to sign up, you've done a great job!

Scheduling (TBC)

  • Doors open 8.30am, with events starting at 09.00am. Standard lunch time is 12.30–1.30pm. Games finish at 5.00pm, no overruns, as venue needs to be packed up and doors closed at 6.00pm.
  • Standard session times are 3.5 hours in the morning (09.00am–12.30pm) and afternoon (1:30–5.00pm), with 1 hour lunch in between.
  • There are also options for full-day (7-hour) games. Be mindful of other session times and lunch time if scheduling these. If you need other time options, please contact the organisers.
